Monthly Coffee Date - January

Monthly Coffee with Riz

Hi Reader!

Happy 2024! It's time for our first monthly coffee date of the New Year.

Look at us hanging out on the first day of the year. I'll love that we could find a little time for each other today!

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it's already 2024? I hope you had a wonderful end to 2023. We didn't do anything crazy. We had a small Christmas party with a few friends, and were taking care of a friend's cat so it was a quiet start to the new year. What did you get up to?

What's the plan for 2024?

I know I say this every year, but 2023 went by so quickly. It started, and then it was summer (for about two days), and then it was over. And now it's 2024, and I feel old.

I've got a lot of things planned this year: lots of new recipes to share with you, some travel, and a seeeeecret project I've been slowly working on.

(And somewhere in the middle of all that, I'd like to find a little more time to go to the gym. <-- Is this the most cliche thing I could say? )

Comment of the Month

"We’ve been making your version for weeks and its our favorite!! We’ve experimented with different jams every week! Thank you for sharing, needless to say this one is a KEEPER for us! Merry Christmas!" - Elouise on Hong Kong French Toast.

Coming up in January

I'm excited to share a Baked Brie with Garlic & Thyme recipe with you later this week! My Baked Brie with Honey & Pistachios recipe has been super popular recently, so I thought I'd share a more savory take that we've been making at home recently. Keep an eye on your inbox for it!

January 15th: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (US only)

January 18th: Sundance Film Festival begins

January 26th: Winter X Games (I can't ski or snowboard...but I'm trying to learn!)

Fun fact: January is also National Book Month!

And now it's your turn to hit REPLY and let me know how you brought in the new year. Made any fun resolutions?

See you next month!

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Harissa Chicken & Lentils

I've probably made this recipe more than most of the recipes on the blog. It was one of my staple meals throughout university! It's nutritious, tasty, and has that lovely warm feeling that's perfect for these cooler months.

Monthly Coffee with Riz Chocolates & Chai Hi Reader! It's time for our monthly coffee date! Grab a cup of coffee (or maybe your favourite chai?) and I'll give you a little rundown of things you may want to be aware of this coming month, as well as a quick update on what I've been up to. What's been happening with me What did I do in April? I worked, I slept, I broke my pinky finger (don't worry, bestie! It's much better now), and I read a few comic books after years of not touching even one....

Grab a cup of coffee (or maybe your favourite chai?) and I'll give you a little rundown of things you may want to be aware of this coming month, as well as a quick update on what I've been up to. What's been happening with me I did something a little out of character in February. I went on a winter holiday! Usually, as a summer child, I go looking for warmer climates whenever possible. Last week, I put...

What's been happening with me I started the year running! I don't mean physically running (I refuse to run if nothing is chasing me), but work-wise. My day-job has been busy, and it's definitely meant that...
