Chocolates & Chai: Award-Winning Recipes

Monthly Coffee Date - November

Monthly Coffee with Riz

Hi Reader!

It's time for our monthly coffee date!

Grab a cup of coffee (or maybe your favourite chai?) and I'll give you a little rundown of things you may want to be aware of this coming month, as well as a quick update on what I've been up to.

What's been happening with me

October's been a strange month in Toronto. Fall has been in full swing, and that's left us with some pretty inconsistent weather. Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Figuring out how warm to dress each day has been a challenge! (Talking about the weather is a very Canadian way to start a conversation.)

Chocolates & Chai won an award!

I honestly didn't even know this was happening until the organising team reached out to let me know I was shortlisted. Thank you to everyone who nominated Chocolates & Chai for LuxLife Magazine's Best Comfort Food Blog - we won! (I believe the official announcement is later this month, but I'm telling you first because, you know, you're special.)

When did it become November?

I say this every month. But where did the month go??? I genuinely want to tell you more about the things I did in October, but I really just don't remember much about it at all. Do you ever feel that way?

Comment of the Month

"Delicious koshari recipe! We have made many versions since coming to the US and this one is our favorite!" - Basim ElH on Egyptian Koshari

Coming up in November

I'll be sharing the recipe for a delicious Mexican breakfast later this month. I learnt about it from a chef I met while visiting Mexico earlier this year. Keep an eye on your inbox for it!

November 12th: Diwali (Indian Festival of Light)

November 23rd: Thanksgiving (US)

November 24th: Black Friday

And now it's your turn to hit REPLY and let me know what's happening in your life.

See you next month!

Riz

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Strawberry Madeleines

This is a fun little twist on your classic madeleine recipe. It's still perfect as an afternoon treat, or as a delicate dessert. Also, it's pink!

It's much better now), and I read a few comic books after years of not touching even one....

Grab a cup of coffee (or maybe your favourite chai?) and I'll give you a little rundown of things you may want to be aware of this coming month, as well as a quick update on what I've been up to. What's been happening with me I did something a little out of character in February. I went on a winter holiday! Usually, as a summer child, I go looking for warmer climates whenever possible. Last week, I put...

What's been happening with me I started the year running! I don't mean physically running (I refuse to run if nothing is chasing me), but work-wise. My day-job has been busy, and it's definitely meant that...
