Monthly Coffee Date - September

Coffee Date with Riz

Hi Reader!

It's time for our monthly coffee date!

Grab a cup of coffee (or maybe your favourite chai?) and I'll give you a little rundown of things you may want to be aware of this coming month, as well as a quick update on what I've been up to.

What's been happening with me

Goodness, August flew by somehow. I didn't even realise September was so close (just a few days ago, I was telling my wife that I thought we still have a month until September arrives!).

And with September arriving, it looks like summer is beginning to leave. Is it me, or was summer way too short this year?

I didn't think I'd have anything new to tell you today, but just a few days ago, I received my blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! Apparently, less than 10% of people who begin jiu jitsu ever make it to blue belt.

As far as martial arts go, it's a pretty challenging one to get into, with a very high attrition rate, but if you're interested in it, I'd highly recommend checking out your local club.

Comment of the Month

"OMG Riz I have to say AMAZING.
I have never been able to make such a moist 🍌bread in my life.
But one thing I didn’t have was baking soda for some reason so what I did was magic powder (baking powder) and because I made 3 batches I just added x3 extra then original but I wish I could add a picture here for everyone to see because it turned out beyond amazing I love it thank you so much Riz" - LeeAnn on Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Coming up in September

It's my birthday month! So, I expect you to treat every day as a celebration.

September 4th: Labour Day

September 10th: Grandparents' Day

September 27th: World Tourism Day

And now it's your turn to hit REPLY and let me know what's happening in your life.

See you next month!

Riz

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice)

This Indonesian recipe is one of my childhood favourites! I have so many good memories eating it.

What's great about it is you can very easily alter it to make it work for you and your family. One of my favourite childhood versions used chopped up hot dogs instead of chicken!

It's much better now), and I read a few comic books after years of not touching even one....

What's been happening with me I did something a little out of character in February. I went on a winter holiday! Usually, as a summer child, I go looking for warmer climates whenever possible. Last week, I put...

What's been happening with me I started the year running! I don't mean physically running (I refuse to run if nothing is chasing me), but work-wise. My day-job has been busy, and it's definitely meant that...
